I established Focus Awards over a decade ago, in 2011, when the entry cost of getting into this ‘hallowed’ commercial space was higher than the price of my 3-bedroomed detached house!

Despite this huge investment I could barely afford, I realised that to be able to positively influence stakeholders in the education sector and reduce the risks of operating an innovative distance learning college, it was an essential next step. It took an almost six year ‘slog’ to get the company to ‘break even’ on my investment, but it has paid off.

Focus Awards is now a respected, progressive and innovative Awarding Organisation (AO), also sometimes referred to as an Awarding Body. Driven and committed, Focus provides valid, fit for purpose qualifications and is regulated by Ofqual, the Government’s qualification ‘watchdog’.

We’ve broken into the ‘Top 20’ of Ofqual’s ‘league table’ of annual qualification sales, competing healthily against plyers who’ve been in the ‘game’ for many more years than us.

Focus Awards provides a wide choice of almost 300 qualifications across a range of sectors, including Education and Training, Health and Social Care, Compliance, Sports, Leisure and Recreation, Hair and Beauty, and more…

From day one, I set out to make Focus the best AO it could be. I was determined to be the most affordable, accessible, flexible, and proactive AO in the market, and we are succeeding. New centres are flocking to us every week…
